Divinity: Original Sin
Since I finished Fallout: New Vegas I’ve been looking for another game to play. Not an easy task, since I’m too picky.
Nothing even comes close to Mass Effect dammit!
So, I had to settle for something else.
D:OS came to my attention a few times, but I wasn’t sure if it would be my thing.
I enjoy the Third Person view in games, which D:OS doesn’t have. In fact I’m really not a fan of the camera angle in this game, while exploring that is.
Either way, I decided to give it a go and currently I’m about 60 hours into the game at this point.
Overall the game is all right, since I’m obviously still playing it at this point. But half the time I have no clue about where I need to go or what I need to do. There are a lot of sidequests in my log, but there are hardly any clues to tell you what’s needed to complete them. Some more quest markers would have been nice.
Combat seems like a trial and error kind of thing where at times you’ll come across enemies that are way out of your league and you’ll have to go back and find other things to do that will allow you to level up, so you can finally take them on.
This means that you set out to do one side quest so you can at least get that out of the way, but then it turns out you can’t because the enemies you encounter are a level or 4 above yours.
Heh I even came across the final boss to deal with to finish the main quest? I just watched my party get slaughtered while they couldn’t even bring in one blow
I guess I prefer more linear story lines instead of running all over the place to hope and find clues as to how to move on.
But I’m still playing it, so that’s a good thing I suppose.
Even though I do have to refer way too much to wikis as to how to proceed with some things.
Btw it is interesting that you can actually play the game with a friend and then bicker about whether you should give a beggar some gold coins or not
