So I decided to start the DA series from the scratch again. I still love this game even if it is now 11 or 12 ? years old. Thankfully the most Nexus Mods do work perfectly despite the age Met Thalia Cousland, spoiled daughter of a noble Ferelden House - infact they ruling one of the two remaining teyrnirs in Ferelden - Highever. Betrayed - losing most of her family to a traitor through a murderous attack from within the castle - she get rescued from Duncan, leader of the Grey Wardens. So she is joining them with a dangereous ritual on the battlefield, looking for vengeance for her murdered family. Say g'bye to your brother Duncan looking for some lost important treaties - watched by a mysterious woman Morrigan ( Even if she is a bitch its one of the characters I love the most ) barely survived the ritual damnit - Ogres are so huge !!!!

ladyaly : I admire your braveness. Of all the Dragon Age games this one's the last one to be ever touched again for me. All because of that horrible arch demon in the end. I really can't go through all of that again. Come to think of it: that fight and fighting Hades in AC Odyssey are the 2 most frustrating boss fights I've been through. Thalia's looking great. I like how in the last screenshot the guy in the back is yelling, while Dog is like: "Bring it on!"

Yeah - Fluffy just want sink his bite in this monstrositiy I wonder always how they managed to fall unconscious on the back as a rogue or knight (after the joining) without a scratch from the sharp weapons Well the Archdemon fight is hard, but manageable if you time the ballistas right. And beside one playthrough I never let my Warden die btw - I let Morrigan have her will I think Hades was far more tricky ... and my most hated fight is still this damn thing who gazes at you and you are stone What was the romance you liked the most btw ?

I agree that Medusa wasn't an easy fight, but it never took an hour to take her down.
I can't tell which DA romance was my favourite, since I only played it once and I didn't get to romance anyone

OH - really ? Well - I guess I played this game around 15 times through to discover all his secrets - completely addicted. Then i got my fingers on the toolset and started creating characters - I did make characters on request from photographies of the people . so they had a bit the feeling they *are* the Warden

ladyaly: 15 times I wonder how many hours that translates to. I suddenly feel as if I'm not that addicted to AC Odyssey Really nice of you to help out to make the roleplaying an even more realist experience for some people

Yes I know - I was at times so addicted to the games I even started to write a fanfic. Bioware did sadly kill the whole forum short before they released DA: I and I didn't had any copies of the story ... stupid me. That made me so angry finding a Golem named Shale - which speaks and titles you with IT .... magical barriers finding a wounded brother Genitivi in Haven and the Key to the Urn of sacred Ashes

I supposed that must have been a lovely fanfic, because most of the time crap things happen to things I love Reminds me... do you remember Saturnring from the old forum? He wrote an interesting Mass Effect fic/profile, which was never finished, about his Shepard: Deirdre Shepard? It think it was lost with the first version of the Femshep forum going down or something? I'm pretty sure I still have a copy of his fic/background on my HDD, because I offered to be sort of being a beta for him? I also seem to remember that he may have lost the fic/background when the old forum went down. But with the old forum going down we also lost touch since I only knew how to contact him through the board. He also gave me feedback about the background I had in mind for my first Shepard. I pretty much miss Saturn
I remember Shale being pretty odd...

Yes I remember the name well, even if I wasn't close to him. I did read his fanfic. I miss a lot of people from the old forums - but oh well - this is the ephemeral life with Internet. I gave up to be to close to people there - after some bad experience.

I know what you mean, ladyaly . Putting a lot of energy in friendships that end up being all for nothing can be really draining. You can only have so many bad experiences, before you start to wonder whether you want to go through it all again. Sadly it's not just with the Internet either.

So true - Once I had a friend from Internet and short after even in person. We were so close ( so I thought) for nearly 10 years. She called us soul sisters and claimed that she can sense if I feel unhappy. I was always willing to hear her out - day or night no matter. Thats what true friends are for - right ? And she had a LOT of problems I mean really a LOT lot. Then I did need her help badly. First she claimed I did say something terrible to her - hurted her deeply. Strange thing was I couldn't even remember that I did say something in this direction. I did nonetheless appologize - more then once. Still she did start not to go on the phone, or answer mails and so on. After a while I did make a final cut - I was for her a soul trashcan not a soulsister. I did need help and someone to listen and she did close the door before my nose. This cut was final and after a while I got over it. Since this wasn't my first experience with "friendship" I decided for myself no one will get ever so close to me. I have family and my hubby, 2 close friends since decades - I do not need more.

10 years is a long time. It's funny how people can just throw all of that away. Unless they were just using you from the start. Seems like you're so-called friend was just like that. What's sad is that these things also suck up a lot of time and energy to get over it. ***hug*** My 2 longest friendships both lasted about 10 years. We mostly chatted online, since both people didn't live that close to me (one in the UK, the other in the very Eastern part of the Netherlands, which is about a 3 hour drive for me). We did meet up on several occasions though (concerts or little city trips), which was always fun. First the guy from the UK just disappears without a trace, until about a year later he's suddenly online again. Turns out that he no longer wanted to spend his time online chatting. But then he met someone who wanted to use the Internet to keep in touch, so he came back. Well never mind me thinking that something bad might have happened to him... But when that was all over he just disappeared again. Same for the other guy. We made some really fun trips together. First to England and the last one we made was the 4 week trip to Canada. Never any arguments about where to go and what to do. Always easy going. It was nice to have someone to travel with. There were plans for other trips too. But then he lost his job and had a hard time finding a new one, so that was the end of our trips together. I was planning on visiting him at some point, but then I got my burn-out. Shortly after that I never heard from him again either. Now here's an attempt to steer this thread seemlessly back to Dragon Age How crappy is it when Leliana leaves your party?

Well - sometimes you need to highjack a thread But what you told above is really similar to what I encountered. Guess it is normal then *hugs* if we like it or not. Well pretty crappy - but I did that only 1 time .... lost Wynn too- defiling the most secret artifact of this religion isn't a good idea If she is in your Party you have even to kill her not my style tbh

Whoops! I remember not wanting to piss off Leliana, so I didn't mess with the artifact either.
Not my style either, but sometimes I plan on doing a totally badass playthrough of a game 😈 Never works though 😇
