All righty… a topic about The Last of Us.
First to address the current bugs:
Up until now I’ve had two frame rate drops which made me have to restart and 4 crashes. One of these crashes occurred while the game was running in the background as I was doing something else...
Total playing time so far: little over 10 hours.
Maybe the game was telling me to take a break every now and then lol
Also, I’m really cutting it on available VRAM, which could very well be a major cause for the crashes/frame rate drops and therefore my own fault.
So, to me it is not as bad as it seems!
I could lower more settings to make more VRAM available and see if these issues still occur, but as long as it performs like this I am not complaining!
When they released the PlayStation version I always thought this would be a game I’d enjoy. But, alas, I had no PlayStation.
So, it was really nice to hear this game was going to be released for PC as well
I did watch the first season of The Last of Us on HBO Max, so now it’s nice to see how the TV show compares to the game.
As far as the game is concerned:
So far I’m really enjoying the story and the characters in the game.
Then there’s also beautiful scenery and in terms of difficulty the game so far is quite playable for me.
There’s combat, but sometimes you can also sneak around enemies or (stealthily) take them out.
You can save at any point in the game!
But what’s also a really nice feature is that, after pausing a cutscene, you can replay from it from the beginning. This is really handy when the doorbell rings or a cat decides to block your view in the middle of the scene!
I think you can even save the game when you have paused the cutscene. Then next time you load it it starts with the cutscene from the beginning!
All games should have this feature in my opinion.

A couple screenshots:
Joel and Sarah
Tess
She was voiced by Annie Wersching who sadly passed away last January.
I really liked her part on the TV show 24 where she played FBI agent Renée Walker. I suppose that was also a reason why my first Shepard was named Renée.

Marlene
Merle Dandridge, who voiced the character, got to play the same character on the HBO Max show.
