So after finishing my ME Andromeda run I finally got around to playing Syberia III. I played the first 2 games again and that was probably a good thing, because there were quite a few things that I'd forgotten about. Surprisingly they were still playable; the graphics didn't look as bad as I thought they would. Where the first 2 games were pretty straightforward when it comes to the controls Syberia III is a whole new ballgame. The controls are a pain in the behind The game actually recommends a controller to make the game more enjoyable... Ordered a controller today just for that. Graphically the game looks great, but it also has a problem with their animations (mostly lip synching). It doesn't make ME Andromeda look worse in this aspect. Anyway, only just started this game and managed to get past the door Nice to see that Kate's back

Steam finally updated my game last night. Wonder why it takes so long before an update is installed. These patches have been out for over a month? Anyhoo after the patch I continued with my last save and what do I get?

Finished my playthrough of Syberia III.
Despite the bugs, the lousy controls (I did end up getting a controller to make it somewhat more playable) it is a good game storywise... The puzzles are challenging; sometimes they make no sense at all to me, but maybe I don't have enough patience...
Where the story ended was pretty disappointing though. The game gets cut off at a point that pretty calls for a sequel. A sequel I wouldn't mind but I fear that there either won't be a sequel or it will take another 13 years till the sequel is released. And that would really be a shame, because I would like to see more of it.

alexiarevan: I'm sorry. But I might have retired by the time you finally get your butt in gear The last update made the game more point and click, so it's more playable now with keyboard.

Syberia: The World Before. I never even realised that this game was in the making and that it was released back in March on Steam, so finding out that this game was out already was a really pleasant surprise. I’ve enjoyed all of the other Syberia games (Syberia, Syberia II and Syberia 3) Odd numbering I know! I sort of assumed that, Syberia 3, despite the odd ending, was going to be the last game. It was released in 2017, so about 13 years after Syberia II, which was released in 2004. The first game was released in 2002. For those who don’t know about the Syberia games: it’s a series of adventure games (point and click basically). The protagonist is Kate Walker, a lawyer from New York, who is sent to Central Europe to close a deal on purchasing an automaton factory on behalf of the family from the inventor of the automatons. The inventor has gone missing and Kate starts her journey to find him. Along the way a number of puzzles have to be solved to make progress. Syberia: TWB picks up a while after where the third game left off. Also a game with puzzles you have to solve in order to make progress. So far the three games before were quite linear as far as the story was concerned (as in going forward through time). I won’t spoil too much, but in contrast to the previous games you now also experience things from other characters points of view in the past through flashbacks, but sometimes you also get to play as them, which is quite interesting. I have really enjoyed this last game as it gives closure and more meaning to Syberia 3’s odd ending. Some screenshots: Kate Walker: Your little automaton companion: Dana Roze, one of the other characters you get to play as: The pretty, snowy landscape: And then there’s the picturesque tram that gets you from one location to another:

Very nice Screenshots - I do not know the series, though. Story seems to be interesting

It really is a good story. And the graphics have always been awesome. If you like solving puzzles and a good story it's definitely a game I'd recommend. In those rare cases where you get stuck solving puzzles there's always YouTube. It's nice to have these kind of games once in a while. Although sometimes when you come home from "a bad day at the office" it's nice to have a game where you can deal with some geth/cerberus troops/bandits etc. Meanwhile I finished Return to Monkey Island. A real blast from the past for me. More puzzles and some don't make sense at all, but it was fun anyway Also some familiar voices there: Jennifer Hale, Courtenay Taylor and Alix Wilton Regan. Could have sworn I heard a bit of Melissanthi in there too, but she's not in the credits... My mind must be playing tricks on me lol Enjoyed it. Now I need to figure out what to play next.
