Apparently Google Stadia will be available in my country in November this year. If you've never heard of it before: Google Stadia is an online streaming service for games. Think of it as Netflix, but instead of paying a monthly subscription fee for movies and TV shows you pay a monthly subscription fee for streaming games to your PC and/or TV. It was announced that it's €9.99/month in my country.
For that you get:
Streams in 4K resolution. A 60 FPS frame rate. 5.1 surround sound. Free games are regularly published. Games can be bought. Exclusive discounts on certain purchases.
There's also a free subscription which offers:
Streams in 1080p max. A 60 FPS frame rate Stereo sound. Games can be bought.
The concept is pretty interesting if you're a die hard gamer playing lots of games every year I suppose, but for someone who can spend ages playing just one game maybe not so much? I'm on the fence since I can spend ages on just one game, so I'm not sure it's worth it for me? I suppose it would be interesting for me if there are games which are exclusive to a certain type of console.
List of games that will be available for Stadia:
DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 DOOM Eternal Wolfenstein: Youngblood Destiny 2 GRID Baldur's Gate 3 Metro Exodus Thumper FINAL FANTASY XV Rage 2 Tomb Raider Trilogy SAMURAI SHODOWN Football Manager 2020 Get Packed The Elder Scrolls Online Gylt The Crew 2 The Division 2 Assassin's Creed Odyssey Ghost Recon Breakpoint Just Dance Trials Rising NBA 2K Borderlands 3 Farming Simulator 19 Mortal Kombat 11 Darksiders Gene

Mmmh- interesting
But for me it is a clear Nay. There are just one/two games I would try out = Baldurs Gate 3 which isn't even announced to be ready this year. FF XV maybe. And AC Odyssey and Elder Scrolls I play already.
To much money for offering nothing to me.

Well, it is a list of games that have already been confirmed. I suppose there will be a lot more games available than this. It's nice to see AC Odyssey on it too I'm kind of worried that games will only be available for a limited time. It'd be rather annoying if you're in the middle of a game and they decide to no longer stream it. Not all content on Netflix is permanently available either. One of my colleagues told me he was in the middle of watching The Expanse of Netflix (after I recommended it to him), when it was removed. I guess that in this case it's not Netflix fault; despite the good ratings Syfy Channel cancelled the show, but since the CEO of Amazon was a really big fan he decided to pick it up for Amazon Prime. So all of it is available on Amazon Prime now. I guess once the 4th season is out I'll be trying out their 30-day free trial... Btw I also wonder what this will do for platforms like GOG.com or Steam. I imagine this must be quite a bit of competition...

I absolutely share your concern and your guessing. Streaming has already a huge impact on the whole entertainment industry - and this will get some attention for sure.
I'm not having any so far - but it could be change in future since a lot of really good TV series made only for this special services.

I don't really watch TV anymore. Too much crap on there these days. And that's not even counting all the commercials.
So Netflix is great for that. And it doesn't cost me much since my sis is sharing her subscription with me.
I just thought it would be pretty annoying if your Internet connection is down for some reason... Call me old-fashioned, but I'd rather have the game on my hard drive if it means I can still play it when my connection is down.
