Neat, Tup Apart from the walls and the ceiling there isn't really anything that's white in my pc/office room. All of my furniture and my floor have oak veneer finishings. Maybe if I'd opted for white furniture it'd be different, but I'm not planning on redecorating this room just yet heh. First project is to do something about my attic. Still need to have the wooden panels of my roof painted. And I plan on having someone install some sliding doors to hide my washing machine/dryer and create storage space. Maybe I could turn the attic in a nice space for the kittens too I'd probably start building a PC by the time a whole new NVIDIA GPU is released lol

There are some rather meaty rumours going on about Radeon RX 6800 XT/ RX 6900XT cards... Interesting times ahead. Installed mobo, ram and ssd. I need extension cord for the fan hub, since I rather use system fan header (located at the bottom of the mobo) than pump pwm header. I'll probably change the front panel USB3 connector location to the left. Still need to connect power & reset buttons and power led. There's lots of room for possible AIO cooler. You can remote the top panel off completely and install it that way. Very handy. It's very easy to remove every panel - makes cleaning easy. By the way, I ended up ordering Scythe Fuma 2 (actually it's "fuuma" since it's written with 風魔).

Tup: I like how the PSU is also covered. Is it easy to remove the tempered glass side panel? It looks like you have to lift it off its hinges. Just wondering if that goes smoothly. Nice to know that installing an AIO cooler won't be much of an issue.

You just lift it, same for the other side. It comes off very easily.

Noice. Saw a review from another case that had a door as a side panel and apparently it didn't come off that easily.
One company is offering offering the grey version of the case for €132 + €4,95 shipping costs. Not a bad deal I guess?

Not bad. I paid 146,90 € for mine (inc. 24% VAT) + 9,90 € shipping.

There are rumours about RTX 3080 Ti. It would have 12GB of VRAM (i.e. two chips more than RTX 3080, obviously would use the same PCB). It would have 78SMs so it would be really close to RTX 3090 but half the VRAM. 12GB should be good for foreseeable future.

If the availability of these is as good as the regular RTX 3000 series it will be 2022 by the time it's available

Well, well, well... Radeon RX 6000 series cards are rather impressive performance leap for AMD. Not really sure what to do. Problems is that I hate AMD's drivers - it lacks features that I need. Can't force AF in DX12 games (apparently might not even work in DX11), v-sync setting is as good as no setting at all, no FXAA alternative that actually works, adaptive sync works worse than on NVIDIA (there's random tearing when LFC kicks in; not possible to use v-sync to limit fps to stay in vrr range), no video settings (only brightness) and not possible to enhance AA to certain level (handy in some older games).
Considering that AMD now offers 16GB of VRAM... 10GB just doesn't cut it. 12GB is on the edge.
The good thing is that we get some competition. But... I think NVIDIA might have a panic right now.

Guess it's a good thing to wait for some more actual reviews.
In the end any new GPU will be better than the GTX1070.

There are things that I value over pure performance and indeed, anything would be faster than GTX 1070 at this point. AMD PR slides (no doubt that they cherry picked the games here): I have a feeling that things change dramatically once you enable ray tracing though...

It's still a sales pitch.
Wonder how many people will now start running in the opposite direction and cancel their orders for the RTX3000 series once these RX6000 series GPU's become available. Assuming they won't have supply issues too.
Btw I also want to see what Asus' variant of AMD's GPU will look like. Not too thrilled about the aesthetics of the RX6000 t.b.h.

I guess RTX 3070 might not sell out as fast tomorrow. Nah, I guess they will anyway. Asus doesn't have very good track record when it comes to Radeons - definitely better to check reviews first. I don't think the reference design looks that bad but temperature and acoustics are more important. They didn't say anything about how the cooler performs. EDIT: They look pretty much identical to RTX 3000 cards.

Tup: I didn't bother to obtain one... There's probably plenty of time left to read reviews before actually being able to buy a new GPU. So far Jayz seems pretty positive about the new AMD GPU's though. He also seems pretty sure that there will be the same issues as with NVIDIA's RTX 3000 series when it comes to availability. Btw the fact that having a new AMD 5000 series CPU is a benefit to a RX 6000 series GPU is really interesting! Personally I'm not too worried about the noise. Same goes for temperature. I doubt AMD would be selling a GPU that's prone to make your PC go up in flames. Also the RX 6800 XT uses less power than the RTX 3080. Lower wattage generally should mean less temperature. No? Might not per se mean that the temperatures would be lower, but I doubt there'd be a significant difference between the RX 6800 XT and RTX 3080. Will definitely need more reviews before I decide what to do. Btw I ordered the grey version of the Phanteks case. I hope you don't mind me being a copy cat here The case definitely looks nice and seems to have decent space for cable management. Definitely heavier than my current case, but it won't have my card reader and BD-ROM reader/writer.

I had R9 290 briefly... It was MSI custom version though so the cooler was on another level compared to the reference (noisy) flamethrower. Still, it sucked a lot of power and heated the room noticeably. More so than GTX 780 which wasn't exactly power efficient either. Their reference coolers have been absolute trash. Custom versions should be good assuming there are no brain farts in the designs. It does look like RDNA2 cards should use less power than Ampere. RX 6800 XT would be really nice fit for my upcoming Ryzen 9 5900X. But the software... One thing is sure though: 10GB isn't going to cut it. All cards AMD announced has 16GB. 6GB difference isn't exactly a little and all consoles have 16GB (shared, but still). There's rumours that the smaller RDNA2 cards start at 12GB. It does look like AMD has rather winner combo. I have my doubts about being able to buy a new card this year, so there's definitely time to just wait and see how things go. It's a great case - I'm sure you like it.
