Made it to level 10 now in Origins. Around level 5 the story at least got more interesting, so I'm still sticking with it for the time being. Also the game has cats
One thing made me laugh last night btw. The game has rope slides too, but whereas the Spear of Leonidas is used for those in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Bayek is using his bare hands Poor guy probably hasn't any skin left on the palm of his hands

Crap, I'd written a long post and once I hit the Create Post button I get an error message about my login session not being valid? I suppose this perfectly fits in with the crap day at the office LOL
Anyway, the short version of what I was attempting to post: I can definitely see that some of the elements from Origins were carried over and improved in Odyssey (of course, if someone played Origins before Odyssey they might disagree) heh The crafting system for instance. While wood to craft arrows was readily available in Odyssey, for example, the only way to obtain it in Origins is by either buying wood from a merchant or loot it from a convoy.
Controls were improved too in Odyssey I think. In Origins I still keep hitting the wrong buttons every now and then even though some of them have the same function in both games
I ran into Layla again too. It's kind of odd if you've completely finished Odyssey before though.

Reminds me spontaneous as I played AC III remastered. Such annoying stuff around. Its deleted now and I never touched another AC game - even if I own Origins and another I can't remember the name ;P I still play a bit of ESO and some times SWTOR. There is a new expansion coming out in September and since I have a lot of characters ( and I mean really a lot ) I level some of them up. With the new expansion you should be able to play finally Nautolans Nautolans eh? Those snake heads? Mmm... I'll pass. For some reason I have rather Sith like taste when it comes to my SWTOR character races, lol. Is it a proper expansion or just something generic flashpoint / raid stuff with a story?
By the way, not so long time ago I played with face app a little.
My Black Desert Online ranger was the guinea pig.
Firstly I checked out how it handles changing the hairstyle. Not bad. And then the age... Quite interesting. I wonder how Kassandra would look like.
Now that the season pass was on sale I bough it.

Expansion SWtoRTup here is what me feel a bit excited. A lot new content. But I did play anyway every new chapter, expansion and so on. Dunno where you stopped btw. They did change the release date a couple of days ago to 22.th Octobre. And I agree. Better not to hasty and without major bugs Since the testserver is open for public to test the new stuff it has much less problems anyway. Interesting changes to your guinea piggie

I finished KOTET i.e. here: On my Jedi Guardian (Republic main) alone though. I have about quarter hundred characters so repetition would be quite monstrous... I dunno why I stopped my Empire main (Sniper) playthrough.
Well, it's still one of the best single player BioWare games to date. (Yes, single player. I absolutely love imperial agent story line.)
By the way, started KOTOR run on my phone not so long time ago. I guess this is the closest to canon. Also teasing Bastila is fun.
^^Mission's famous last words (of that subject at least).

Oh my - you missed quite a lot, then. Its really worth to go further with at least 1 Character. The whole Umbara/Nathema stuff- and then Ossus - I play exclusively solo btw. Some stuff of Iokath I wished they had made a solo Flashpoint, too - but its okay. Got 22 Characters now and my favored story is still imperial agent - 5 of them in the run I remember well on Kotor and Kotor Sith Lords - especially Kotor 2 I enjoyed a lot

Okay, I am officially lost lol In any case: Odyssey got another patch last night. Downloaded about 12.7 GB of data. Apparently this also includes the Discovery Tour that will be available next month Made it to level 18 in Origins now. I did play as Aya for a bit, so I suppose that's cool. They were just some sea battles (like sinking ships in Odyssey. Still missing Kass though.

ladyaly : apparently so. She's definitely a great character. To think that all those great Kass genes must have carried over after all that time. I get that it's cool to have that link with Odyssey, but I still think this could have been handled better. All this trouble just to have Aya give the Hidden Blade to Bayek *sigh* I've completed about 40% of the main story at this point. Played for about 23 hours. Of those 23 hours I got to play as Aya for, maybe, 15-20 minutes. I wish it'd been more. I'll try and finish this game, but there's no real incentive to play it again.
The game has Photo Mode too, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass. For some reason I can't get rid of the grid in certain settings, which makes in impossible to make 4K screenshots without having the grid ruin them It's weird though. The grid does disappear if I don't touch my mouse or keyboard for a bit when taking a screenshot of a landscape, but when I try to take a screenshot of a character the grid just won't disappear. Hmmm Some Origins screenies:

ladyaly : I haven't finished the game yet, but I think there will be a few more opportunities to play as Aya. I don't expect a lot though.
EDIT:
Main story of Origins is over 50% completed and now I get to play an actual mission as Aya So far it's only been possible to play as her doing naval battles and there have been 3 moments in the game for those. The final one was a royal pain in the behind. Then again I suppose it didn't help that my cat was trying to sit on my keyboard during the battle either
I have to say that I prefer the naval battles in Odyssey. In this game ship health doesn't restore after sinking a ship, so it doesn't give much room to breathe when you're surrounded by a number of ships. I'd say that naval combat has definitely improved in Odyssey. Controls were a bit better in Odyssey too, so it is good to see that they improved on that
I wrote before that I wasn't a fan of not being able to save your progress in a game. And while it's not possible to do so in Origins I'm a little less skeptical about it. The game does save most of your progress: Kill a guard in a camp: the game is saved. Complete an objective like looting a treasure or killing a commander: the game is saved. So it's a real relief that you don't have to start from scratch again if you do die. Unlike some games where you're thrown back to a previous save point and you have to start from scratch. If you do die in Origins and reload you respawn close to the location where you died, but in a safe zone. Then you can just go back and finish what you started
I also finally ran into a character voiced by Melissanthi Mahut (Kassandra) I wonder if there are more characters she voiced...
Some other familiar voices from Odyssey too, most notably the actors who voiced Perikles and Thaletas.

Whilst looking for something on YouTube I came across a TEDx talk from Melissanthi Mahut on the meaning of acting in the world of video games. For those who haven't heard of TED before: it's a yearly conference on Technology, Entertainment and Design. The talks are usually posted online, though I guess it may take a while before they appear since there are a lot of local TED conferences these days. I read that she'd done a TEDx talk a while ago and searched for it, but sadly couldn't find it back then. It popped up in my recommendations today though

Okay, hope you'll have a good and relaxing vacation, ladyaly *hugs back* EDIT: Assassin's Creed Odyssey Discovery Tour was made available today (10th of September). And apparently they also released that final Lost Tales of Greece episode last week. I didn't realise it was already released because I've only been playing Origins these days I've put about 70 hours of time in Origins now and completed about 90% of the game. Not sure I'll be able to get it to 100% though. If having to compete in chariot races counts towards reaching a 100% completion rate I definitely won't be getting there, because I suck at and it's just not my thing Finished the first of Origins' DLC's last night and started the second one.
Having come this far makes me realise how massive Odyssey really is. Even when I did take my time with it (780 hours on the clock, 2nd playthrough) I'm still not bored with it. In any case I don't think I'll be doing another playthrough of Origins again, since it won't change the story. I do want to see more of Egypt, so there's Origins' Discovery Tour for that at least
