Got a heads-up from the cattery owner yesterday, saying he knew someone who had two British Shorthair kittens available. Contacted the lady from the other cattery, but sadly there was already an option on one of the kittens. Today she messaged me again saying that the other kitten was no longer reserved and that both kittens were now available if I was still interested in them. So I called her and now I have an option on these two little furry things: They're about 2 weeks old here

If I'd hade to pick between the two, I'd pick the darker one. So... you are planning to get both?

Tup: I'm getting both of them When I first contacted the lady yesterday, the lighter, lilac, female kitten was under option. Got a message from the lady when I got home frome work this afternoon, saying both kittens were available now, so apparently the person who had the option on the lilac kitten changed their mind. So I immiately contacted her to tell her I was still interested. We had a pleasant conversation and so I opted for both. I think when getting a kitten it is the best option. Unless you can be home all the time to keep them entertained. Now they'd still have each other and can keep themselves busy when I'm at work. Also, I guess all cattery owners prefer it if you take two kittens. Unless you already have a cat. Understandable I think.

In the first picture they were about 2 weeks old, so now they're about 3 weeks old. I guess they grow fast I've agreed to call the lady next week to set a date for coming to see them (when they're about 5-6 weeks old) If I decide that I want to keep them I have to make an initial payment, but I think I pretty much made my mind up already. Still looking for names. Thinking of calling the blue, male kitten Shep. Not sure about the female kitten yet.

Stepping up... the lady messaged me asking me if it was possible for me to come and see the kittens this weekend. A bit sooner than expected. Was supposed to contact her this weekend to make an appointment Anticipating a total lockdown I guess. She asked that only 2 people from the same household would come and no children. Also asked for face masks and that the visit would only be a total of 30 minutes. I understand all of these things. But I'm a household of one and would prefer to not go there alone. So I called her and explained the situation, and asked if I could at least bring my sister along. Thankfully she said that it was okay and understood that I didn't want to come alone for safety reasons. So, I guess I'll be seeing my new kittens this weekend

Got to see the kittens today They are 1 month old now and super cute, so if all goes well I'll have 2 kittens running around the house some time in January A couple of pictures I took: The kittens with their mom Annabell. They'll have orange eyes too.
Decided on the names btw. Had pretty much decided already on naming the male kitten Shep, but had no clue about the female kitten yet. Was asked if I'd thought of any names I said I'd only decided on the male kitten. Funny enough on the way back home from the cattery it suddenly hit me: the female kitten's name will be Shona, the Gaelic version of Jane... Could it possibly get any nerdier? But it fits so well: Shep and Shona

By the way, if you named Shep as Rex it would rhyme nicely with Shona.
