Glad you managed to talk your mom into not going anywhere. I hope you can also still manage to look after her a bit.
I left work early today. Didn't sleep very well last night and during the day it felt like I'm starting to catch a cold. Hopefully it's just that. Normally, if I'm not working, I'd be visiting my parents on Fridays, but obviously I'm not going now.

mmmh - now we have in Germany 3758 known cases, 8 people died. In my region we have 569 - the second highest rate in Germany.
I'm still not panicking, but its a strange situation here. No events, TV-Shows live but without audience. Everyone is talking about this thing. Next 2 weeks will be difficult for families. What to do with the children if they need to work ? Some companies already saying bring the childs with you - we have a room and a person which cares for them. This is not the worst idea.
And keep me updated how your cold is doing.

Stuffed nose, and the onset of a sore throat at this point. At least I have no fever.
It is very odd. Like something from a TV show.

My Hubby says he thinks a lot of this old apocalypse movies ...
Life is pretty strange somehow. I should have a meeting with someone next week. But he made a trip to Austria/Vorarlberg last week. So he decided to cancel all meetings and lock him up in a sort of self quarantine for 14 days. He didn't visit a high risk region - but who knows. On the one side I was sort of shocked - it is so near now. But on the other hand I applaud this man to be honest over profit and tell me.

Yeah, sometimes it does seem like a Hollywood script. Anyway, stuffed nose has now evolved to runny nose. Managed to keep the soar throat at bay for the time being with lots of Anta Flu sweets. Sensible thing to do from the person you were supposed to meet. My supervisor will probably think I'm weak for leaving from work yesterday too. And in a way I kind of feel bad about calling in sick, but still... My parents offered to pick up groceries for me when I need them, but I really don't want them to go to the stores for me. They are both very vulnerable for things like this and I don't want them to risk it just for me So, I thought about getting my groceries delivered at home, but even that seems to be a pain in the behind now. Still have enough food in the freezer for a week though. Btw it's really strange how some people seem to turn all this into some kind of competition. One of my Facebook friends made a post that stated the number of confirmed infections in the Netherlands vs the number of confirmed infections in Poland, the country she's originally from. The number of infections there are currently about 12 times lower than they are over here, so obviously "her" country is doing a lot better in handling the crisis than my country is... So I made a remark asking if there was some kind of competition going on and why you can't compare Poland and the Netherlands because for one the population density in Poland is lower than it is in the Netherlands. Now it turns out that my comment was deleted... "Friends" eh?
EDIT: I made another remark to her post about wondering if my comment got censored somehow. The topic has now disappeared lol

OUCH - what an idiot - this has nothing to do with friendship - right ? True friends can dare to say what they think - even if I don't like it or disagree -
And honestly - I would give a damn about what the supervisor thinks. We have difficult times and there is a saying
"Better safe then sorry" right ?
The Virus is spreading pretty fast - in Germany we have now 5300 + cases. Nothing more to say - you did right !

Probably best to delete her.
Today I read that there's now someone from my village infected. We also just had another press conference about new measures to be taken. All restaurants and bars will be closed for 3 weeks starting from 18:00. All the schools will also be closed until April 6
And the measures they took before will be extended until then as well...

Germany is closing boarders to the south and France. All is just a weird scenario - the numbers in Spain adn Italy are really bad.
Experts saying it is just the beginning, though - I hope they are wrong
How are you holding up so far ? Working tomorrow ?

Especially when people continue to be idiots.
The reason the bars and restaurants now have to close is because there were lots of people from Belgium crossing the border to visit bars and restaurants here, since the bars and restaurants over there are already closed. Making things more risky.
At least it will still be possible to order things like pizza etc.
Since I'm not feeling tip top with the running nose and my throat has now started to get stuffed too I won't be going to work tomorrow. The government already said on Thursday that people should stay at home if they have a nasal cold, light fever etc. Can't go back to work until all these symptoms have gone, so I'm in self isolation I guess.

WTF .. its surreal and crazy !!!!
Dentist appointements for my Hubby are cancelled 'til end of April. Our Doc stucks in Marocco - no flights to bring him home.
And our supermarket has a lot of empty racks. I needed Kitchen Rolls = 0 fresh Ginger = 0 long-life milk = 0 sieved tomatoes = 0 Eggs = near 0

Same here. My mom texted that my dad went to 4 supermarkets this morning to come back with one bag of brussels sprouts and a can of peas. No paracetamol anywhere either.
I tried to order some groceries from one supermarket and have them delivered. Don't need them tomorrow. End of the week is fine. According to the website there were still a fair amount of delivery and pickup moments, but when I choose one nothing happens! So I suppose I might have to go to the supermarket myself at some point, coz I gotta eat too right?

Hanging in there. It's a pain in the behind not to be able to go anywhere. And not seeing or hearing from anyone at all is pretty crappy too.
