It's always interesting to see how they transform book into a movie or series. In books/visual novels you can often read the main protagonist's (or narrator's) thoughts so it's interesting to see how they manage to get those through. In this case the voice actors are the same, which probably helps. I usually tend to watch things when I know things have ended. Kinda hate it when they let things open... Also I pretty much always wait for season to finish and then marathon it through. Or see what they left out that was in the books. Or if the characters in the movie are true to the characters in the book. Indeed. Or what they added. Currently reading/playing/listening/watching the Chapter 3. So far the animation has been extremely true to the original work. Currently the story has been developing the same to, though, who knows what kind of snowball effect some things have caused... It's going to be interesting. @channel conversations are fun to read - once you realise who are actually posting there. Yup, I hate it too when they leave things open. Plenty of shows that I watched that were pulled from television way too soon without a proper ending. Feels like a waste of time. One show that springs to mind is Caprica which was a prequel to Battlestar Galactica. Really would have loved to see more of it, but it was pulled after 17 episodes bah. Well, as I wrote there isn't a cliffhanger ending to this first season of Alternate Carbon, which was also based on a book btw. I just wonder about whether the characters from the first season will return or if there'll be a whole new cast of characters if there is a 2nd season. One more reason to marathon - do not even watch if it ends up being a major disappointment.

It could still turn out to be a disappointment I guess.

I only watch 1 series since some year - Greys Anatomy. And this one has always a huge cliffhanger at the end of the season

ladyaly: I used to watch that one as well, but I gave up after season 7. There were just too many shows I tried to follow at the time and I gave up on this one. What happened to George also might have influenced my decision to let this one go. Gotta love a good cliffhanger!

I watched House on/off but wasn't that into it. I did watch the new X-files though. Some older UK series hooked me pretty badly (like Heartbeat, 18 seasons).
Starting to notice differences in Steims;Gate. Not sure if those are my doings or just changes made for the anime. I'm getting to a point where things may take a different turn... Going to be interesting.

I hope the changes don't ruin it for you.
Personally, I don't mind it if there are any twists in a show that is based on a book. Like you said it can be interesting. Especially if you've read the book before.
Diversions from the book can keep you on your toes, but not everyone is happy with that.

There's a chance that the ending is something completely different (or not). There are different routes based on what choices you made (=how you replied to emails). So far minor differences only but the real turning point is coming soon and I guess it's then when all things start to matter.

Different endings depending on the choices you made... Now where have I heard that before?

Different endings depending on the choices you made... Now where have I heard that before? Strong story, actions matter... That's what makes game great. That's what made KOTOR1, KOTOR2, ME1, ME2 and even ME3 great. Books, movies and series are all about story (writing) and characters. For series and movies audiovisual aspect is important too. EDIT: NOOOOO. That didn't end well at all. I must have screwed up badly at some point. Suzuha ending... Not even remotely close how the anime ended. Pretty much total failure and premature non-satisfying ending. Where did I screw up... Looking at the clear list there are six possible endings... AAaaaa... Now I know! I didn't send d-mail when. I was supposed to do that but didn't quite realise and picked wrong option. Quick save & skip mode to rescue. Phew! There are nine chapters in total. Thanks to my previous failure things ended in chapter 6. Luckily I can now start chapter 7.

Another fine example of Murphy's Law it seems.

Another fine example of Murphy's Law it seems. One gotta be careful or you loose potentially hours of content. Luckily this was a simple mistake, easily fixable with save game... But hey, I cleared one possible ending.

Interesting... Chapter 7 was quite different but those changes and cuts made sense. Result was the same. Now I can clear one alternative ending too.

2 down 4 to go then.
Watched the first 3 episodes of Seven Seconds on Netflix, which deals with what happens when an African American boy is critically injured after he was run over by a cop and how the cop's colleagues try to cover the whole thing up. Pretty decent show so far.

Pretty decent show so far. Considering what's been happening lately I guess that's rather "in subject". One more possible ending down. I still have to check one different route in Chapter 8. All in all the "best" route was quite similar.

Yes, sadly Seven Seconds is a very topical matter. Only 2 more episodes to watch of Seven Seconds. Heh the other day I fell asleep during episode 4 and woke up 4 hours later. And no, it wasn't because the show was starting to get boring. Blame the early shifts and the lack of sleep. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Guessing you're almost done then now, Tup.
